We spent a lovely morning exploring the
Royal Yatcht Britannia. It was de commissioned in 1997 after 44 years of service. It was a lovely way of seeing the more personal side of the Royal family. Together with the Castle of Mei I feel we have got to know the Royal family as just another family without all the pressures of public life. Scotland is a special place for them as they can get away from it all in the vast un inhabited spaces.. Not particularly a royalist but just another side to life.
The bridge was closed due to the high wind but everything else was open as normal.
The rest of the day we spent doing a whistlestop tour of Edinburgh castle and the Royal Mile. It was so cold and windy we didn't hang around much.
We then had to kill time around Edinburgh until 11.40 pm when we could get on the sleeper back to London...
